Our services are offered from these core principles:

  • Each group has its own unique character and context

  • Each group has an innate understanding of how it functions best

  • Each group’s potential is greater than the sum of its parts

  • Successful group process is dynamic and resilient

Productive group process rarely “just happens” — enjoyable meetings and effective teamwork requires learnable skills and reflection. That’s where facilitation comes in. 4th Sister’s goal is to build your group’s skills so you may operate successfully, without further consultation.

Because each group of people has its own culture, history, purpose, and intelligence, this work is customized for each situation. 4th Sister will offer tools and techniques to frame our work together.

There is no set program to meet all needs, as each group and situation differs. You will learn new skills, overcome obstacles, and grow together.

4th Sister’s base facilitation fee is $50 per hour. Additional charges may apply based on project needs. Groups with constrained budgets may contact us to discuss alternate fee arrangements.

4th Sister can assist in establishing agendas and running meetings, including large public forums and membership gatherings, or smaller board and committee meetings. 4th Sister meeting facilitation improves timeliness, clarity and prioritization, respectful listening and conversation, egalitarian participation, thorough exploration, and efficient decisions.

4th Sister mediates among individuals within a group, as well as untangles larger multi-party disputes. Members are guided through a participant-directed process in which they clarify issues, explore options, increase understanding, and craft resolutions. 4th Sister also assists groups creating processes for managing future conflicts.

4th Sister can help initiate, evaluate, and restructure organizations, including specific programs, partnerships, strategies, or campaigns. Utilizing meetings, retreats, trainings, and coaching, 4th Sister helps groups develop key policies, governance and decision-making infrastructure, and long range planning.

4th Sister creates participatory workshops and materials customized for each group’s needs. Popular topics include communication, facilitation, decision making, financial management, agenda setting, and conflict resolution. 4th Sister also trains individuals within a group, coaching in particular skills or through specific projects.

Let’s discover what your group needs to flourish.
